Mr. Michael B. Shivar
Michael B. Shivar, a resident of Kinston, N.C., was appointed to the University of North Carolina Board of Trustees by the UNC Board of Governors to a term ending 2013.
He serves as chair of the Business Affairs Committee and member of the Educational Planning and Programs Committee, and the Executive Committee. He also served as a member of the Chancellor’s Search Committee.
Shivar, a native of Lenoir County, N.C., received a degree from UNC Chapel Hill in business administration.
For the past 35 years, he has been the owner of Kinston Insurance Service Agency.
