The Center for Support of Undergraduate Research and Fellowships (CSURF) hosts various workshops to assist undergraduates with valuable research-related skills.
Faculty: If you would like CSURF to visit your class for a Poster Making workshop or an Introduction to Undergraduate Research Opportunities workshop, please fill out the Workshop Request Form and email it to CSURF (firstname.lastname@example.org).
CSURF Workshops include:
Effective Poster Making using PowerPoint – learn how to develop and format a professional poster or presentation for conferences/meetings
Poster Workshops offered in Honors Office in 2nd floor of Randall Library. All workshops are free and open to undergraduate and graduate students. Please email CSURF if you plan to attend.
Dates for Spring 2015: every other Tuesday at 5:30 pm and Wednesday at 5:00 pm.
February: Tuesdays: 3rd, 17th and Wednesdays: 11th, 25th

Getting involved in Undergraduate Research - Informs students how to involve themselves in research, no matter what field of study they are in. Gives students a better understanding of what research is and the benefits it has to offer. Perfect for UNI 101.
Preparing a CV - learn how to properly prepare your Curriculum Vitae.
Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) - introduction to the major components of research behavior, focusing on four aspects of ethical research conduct: Intellectual Property, Plagiarism, Data Fabrication/Falsification, and Whistleblowing. RCR workshops are required for those conducting NSF funded research.

Fulbright Informational Session - Learn about the US scholars Fulbright Program and how and when to apply. Hear from former "Fulbrighters" about their experiences.
Boren, Gilman, & Fulbright International Scholarship Informational Session- Learn about international fellowship and scholarship programs including the Boren awards, the Gilman Scholarship program, and the US Scholars Fulbright Program and how and when to apply.
Writing a Powerful Personal Statement- Get tips for writing a powerful admissions essay or personal statement for graduate school admissions.
Getting Prepared for Grad School - Should I go to grad school? Will grad school get me where I want to go? How can I plan for the admissions process?
Additional Programs by Request
Workshops are held at CSURF, located on the 2nd floor of Randall Library, near the Honors College. Workshops are conducted by CSURF graduate assistants and can be one-on-one or group format. Workshops are typically scheduled during CSURF’s regular hours; if necessary, individual times can be arranged. Classroom workshops can be held in the instructor's classroom.
