Undergraduate Research Workshops
Interested in Learning (or Improving) Research-Related Skills?
Center for Support of Undergraduate Research and Fellowships (CSURF) hosts various workshops to assist undergraduates with valuable research-related skills. Faculty: If you would like CSURF to visit your class for a Poster Making workshop or an Introduction to Undergraduate Research Opportunities workshop, please fill out the Workshop Request Form and email it to CSURF (csurf@uncw.edu).
Workshops offered include:
•Poster Making with Microsoft PowerPoint – learn how to develop and format a professional poster or presentation for conferences/meetings
Current Poster Workshops offered in Honors Office in 2nd floor of Randall Library. All workshops are free and open to undergraduates.

• Preparing A CV - learn how to properly prepare your Curriculum Vitae.
• Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) - introduction to the major components of research behavior, focusing on 4 aspects of ethical research conduct: Intellectual Property, Plagiarism, Data Fabrication/Falsification, and Whistleblowing. RCR workshops are required for those conducting NSF funded research.
• Getting involved in Undergraduate Research - Informs students on how to involve themselves in research, no matter what field of study the are in. Gives students a better understanding of what research is and the benefits it has to offer.
• Additional Programs by Request
Workshops are held at CSURF, located on the 2nd floor of Randall Library, near the Honors Program. Workshops are conducted by CSURF graduate assistants and can be one-on-one or group format. Workshops are typically scheduled during CSURF’s regular hours; if necessary, individual times can be arranged. CSURF has a computer available for students to access the mentioned programs.
