Alumni Email Accounts
Student accounts will be deleted after the drop/add period the fall or spring semester following separation from UNCW. Separation is defined as graduation, transfer, leave of absence, etc. Students who have separated from the university are not able keep their "uncw.edu" email account.
All graduates of 2008 to the present have access to alumni email addresses provided by Microsoft's Live@edu. The email address uses the same prefix as your student email, but the domain is changed to "alum.uncw.edu" (i.e., abc1234@alum.uncw.edu). Once you register for an alumni email account, it is yours for life. For additional information, visit the Alumni Association website.
Faculty / Staff Account Deletion
Faculty and staff accounts will be deleted on the day of separation from UNCW. If a faculty or staff member is retiring, they are entitled to keep their email account unless they choose to not do so.
Listservs
Listservs are email discussion groups that can be administered by one or more persons. A listserv is a single email address that, when mailed to, distributes the message to the email addresses of all its members. The lists can be open or moderated depending on the owner/administrator's preference.
To request a listserv, contact the Technology Assistance Center (TAC) and provide the following information: (1) The name of the listserv (i.e., Tactraining - for TAC Training Updates) and (2) the name and email address(es) of the listserv administrator(s).
Note to Student Organizations: You may obtain a Listserv for your Student Organization by filling out
the Technology Request Form (online submission). This form is located on the Student Affairs site.
