Under the Age of 24

If you are under the age of 24, you must have completed the Minimum Course Requirements (MCR) in high school.

If you meet MCR :

• You must be eligible to return to the last institution you attended
• You must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) on all transferable work attempted at all institutions you attended
• You must have at least 24 semester hours of transferable credit
• 6 or more semester hours of freshman level English
• 3 or more semester hours of college level Math

If you do not meet MCR or you have an Adult High School Diploma / GED :

• You must be eligible to return to the last institution you attended
• You must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) on all transferable work attempted at all institutions you attended
• You must have at least 24 semester hours of transferable credit
• You must meet the following college requirements:
• 6 or more hours of college level English
• 6 or more hours of college level mathematics
• 6 or more hours of college level science
• 6 or more hours of college level social science (i.e., psychology, sociology, etc.)
• 6 or more hours of college level foreign language

For all students :

UNCW may, on a case-by-case basis, waive one or more of the high school minimum course requirements, but transfer students must meet all other minimum transfer requirements. Waivers will be considered under the following circumstances:

1. The applicant is 24 years of age or older.
2. The applicant is under 24 years of age and has a high school diploma or GED and:
           
a. Has the associate of arts, the associate of science, the associate of fine arts, the      baccalaureate or any higher level degree from a regionally accredited institution.

b. Has completed 6 semester hours in college-level English, math, science, social sciences, and foreign languages with a 2.50 GPA on a 4.00 scale (total of 30 semester hours).
