For Counselors - Resources from UNCW
We recognize that the admission process can be time-consuming and, at times, confusing for your seniors. Coupled with all you are expected to do today, it may be hard to stay up-to-date with regards to information about the top schools your students are seeking admission to.
At UNCW, we have worked very diligently to consolidate several tools to better serve guidance counselors, in hopes we can make your job a little bit easier. Additionally, our constant communication will allow you to stay abreast of changes in averages, programs, and so forth year after year. We invite you to explore each of the tools outlined below as soon as possible.
Again, thank you for all that you do. We hope you will find these tools helpful and utilize them frequently to better advise your students. Best wishes for the 2011-2012 academic year!
Our hope is to communicate important information and updates to you in an eco-friendly way. We welcome you to read our Counselor E-newsletter, Teal Sunrise, periodically to help your students learn more about UNCW and the application process.
SeaLevel Counselor Portal
Track your school’s applicants and their progress in one convenient place. The SeaLevel Counselor Portal allows your staff to eliminate confusion and stay in the loop all season long. Note: all counselors at your school can have access to the Sealevel Counselor Portal, but each school must designate an “Alpha Counselor”, or a designee in charge of your school’s account.
Regional Guidance Counselor Brunches
UNCW will host counselor breakfasts in various cities in North Carolina and select locations out-of-state in the fall. This is an excellent networking opportunity and a great way to learn more about what the university has to offer and changes that have occurred.
Regional Receptions & Other Events
Throughout the school year, we will host regional receptions targeting specific applicant pools such as diverse and multicultural students, high-ability students, and many others. While we will certainly ask for your assistance in publicizing these events to your students, feel free to drop by and meet a UNCW representative yourself as well.
Personal Campus Visits
If you are interested in personally exploring campus for yourself, please contact your regional admissions representative to schedule your visit. Typically, tours are offered Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., and Tuesday and Thursday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tours are not offered on holidays or days classes are not in session.
