UNCW Fundraising Priorities
Student Support
The rigorous academic setting at UNCW attracts talented and diverse students from around the globe. The university has identified merit scholarships as one of its most profound fundraising priorities. Find out about established Scholarship Endowments and how you can create your own.
One of the hallmarks of the university is the opportunity for students to work with faculty in conducting research. Supporting these efforts include providing scientific and technological equipment to assist students' research and applied learning experiences.
Academic Support

The UNCW campus is quickly growing with new construction and renovation projects, such as the new Computer Information Systems, Cultural Arts and School of Nursing buildings as well as the expansion of the Center for Marine Science. These projects offer donors special opportunities to establish a permanent connection with UNCW by naming buildings, rooms and common areas.
Faculty Support
UNCW has a rare group of faculty in our classrooms. They are true teachers and scholars, as committed to insipring our students to learn and grow as they are to generating new knowledge in their fields and to engaging in applied research and outreach in the community.
Continuing to attract the best faculty, means we must also have the professional development and research funds to retain them. Goals in this area include increasing the amount of endowed distinguished professorships, developing funds for faculty research and development, scientific and technology resources and post-doctoral felowships. Regional Engagement

We are committed to enhancing our collaborations with local governments, non-profit organizations, schools, community colleges, businesses, corporations and more. The university is in need of funds that support our youth development initiatives, such as camps and after-school programs, as well as lifelong learning programs. Goals also include a Center for Regional Engagement to coordinate outreach initiatives as well as funds to support business development in the region.
Global Engagement
UNCW strives to provide students with a global perspective and give them opportunities to experience first-hand what different cultures and climates are like. Each year, UNCW sends hundreds of students to study abroad and we welcome students from various nations around the world to our campus. Support is needed for scholarships, international partnerships, research and field experiences.
