2013 Outstanding Alumni Award Nominations
Nomination Deadline: April 10, 2013
Nomination Form
Nominate a registered nurse who graduated from the School of Nursing for the thirteenth Outstanding Alumnus Award.
The person selected will take his/her place of honor at the annual Nurses Day Celebration on May 7, 2013 and be invited to join us at the Graduation Recognition and Awards Ceremony of our senior students on May 10, 2013. This individual will be recognized as a representative of the agency where employed.
If you know of a nursing alumnus/a who graduated in 2008 or prior and exemplifies the spirit of excellence, please submit that name and qualifying data on the nomination form.

CHHS Homecoming 2013 Alumni Breakfast
The first annual College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) Alumni Breakfast was held on Saturday, February 16 in McNeill Hall. The breakfast included alumni from the School of Health and Applied Human Sciences, the School of Nursing and the School of Social Work. Alumni brought their friends and family to enjoy breakfast and hear the latest news for CHHS. Attendees were able to tour McNeill Hall, which opened in the 2010-2011 academic year. Everyone had a great time sharing stories and reconnecting with fellow alumni! Check out photos!
Homecoming Alumni Breakfast
On Saturday, February 4, the School of Nursing hosted its annual alumni reunion breakfast in McNeil Hall in order to celebrate Homecoming 2012. Alumni, faculty and current students were able to enjoy each other’s company as well as a great breakfast in the new SON building, McNeill Hall that opened in the 2010-2011 academic year. Homecoming 2010 Nursing Alumni Reception
The School of Nursing (SON) and the UNCW Alumni Association hosted a breakfast in the Clock Tower Lounge in the Fisher Student Center for SON graduates. Alumni, faculty and current students reconnected as they spoke about the nursing program, many citing the benefits it's had on their careers. Alumni enjoyed viewing a presentation about the new SON building which is scheduled to open in the fall. Take a look at photos!
Homecoming 2009 School of Nursing Alumni Reception
In celebration of UNCW Homecoming 2009, on Saturday, January 31, the School of Nursing (SON) and UNCW Alumni Association hosted a mixer for SON graduates. While alumni, faculty and current students gathered at the Clock Tower lounge in the Fisher Student Center, Sarah Blankenship, recipient of the Kay and Charles Bolles Nursing Scholarship addressed the group about her experiences at UNCW. Everyone had a great time sharing stories and learning about the school of nursing program.Alumni enjoyed viewing renderings of the under-construction SON building while they reconnected with old friends and made some new ones.

COngratulations to Megan Williams '98
Megan Williams '98 was honored as alumna of the year at the Nurses' Day Celebration hosted by the UNCW School of Nursing and The North Carolina Nurses' Association, District 22 on Tuesday, May 8 in the Burney Center Ballroom. The annual event is a regional celebration of nurses and the profession. Each year, National Nurses Week is celebrated May 6-12. May 12 is the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. This year's theme was "Nurses, Advocating, Leading, Caring."
