Alumni Association Scholarships

The UNCW Alumni Association annually awards scholarships funded by alumni contributions. These scholarships are awarded to deserving UNCW current undergraduate and graduate students as well as incoming freshmen, incoming graduate and transfer students. All of the alumni scholarships are awarded based on academic merit.

All recipients of the 2012 - 2013 Alumni Scholarships have been notified. If you did not receive an email and/or a letter in the mail notifying you, you were not chosen as a recipient this year.

Applications for the 2013 - 2014 Alumni Scholarships will be available in October 2012.

Alumni Scholarships

Alumni Association Bob King '66 Scholarship

Eligibility Incoming or currently enrolled student.

Criteria GPA of 3.5 or higher, taking a minimum course load of 12 credit hours.

Claire Stanley Student Ambassador Scholarship

Eligibility Currently enrolled student.

Criteria Member in good standing with Student Ambassdor Program and a GPA of 3.25 or higher at UNCW.

Cape Fear Bank/John Cameron Coburn Alumni Scholarship

Eligibility Must be accept or currently enrolled in the Cameron School of Business.

Criteria CSB current or incoming student with a GPA of 3.4 or higher.

Gerald Shinn UNCW Alumni Association Merit Scholarship

Eligibility Incoming or currently enrolled Student.

Criteria Minimum GPA of 3.4 or higher.

Geraldine King Morris Nursing Scholarship

Eligibility Must be accepted or currently enrolled in the school of nursing. Preference given to those students with a desire to join the armed forces, top priority to the army.

Criteria Minimum GPA of 3.25 or higher.

Hugh Henry Fox UNCW Alumni Association Scholarship

Eligibility Incoming or currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student.

Criteria Minimum GPA of 3.4 or higher.

Jim A. Humphries Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility Incoming or rising enrolled Junior or Senior.

Criteria Minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher and a strong record of campus leadership and community service.

Lewis/Wiley Alumni Graduate Fellowship

Eligibility Incoming or currently enrolled graduate student.

Criteria Merit scholarship with no minimum GPA.

Mary Catherine, Susan & Elizabeth James Alumni Association Scholarship

Elilgibity Incoming or currently enrolled student.

Criteria Merit scholarship with no minimum GPA.

Perry Daniel Lockamy Jr. '63 Memorial UNCW Alumni Association Graduate Scholarship

Eligibility Incoming or currently enrolled graduate student.

Criteria Merit scholarship with no minimum GPA.

Sara Fussell Messer '66 Scholarship

Eligibility Incoming or current student with preference for students from Duplin or Sampson County in NC.

Criteria Minimim GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The Alumni Association Patricia Corcoran Smith '72 Scholarship

Eligibility Incoming freshman only.

Criteria High school GPA of 3.5 or higher, taking a minimum course load of 12 credit hours..

Watson School of Education Alumni Chapter Scholarship

Eligibility Must be accepted or currently enrolled in the Watson School of Education.

Criteria Merit scholarship with no minimum GPA.

Wilmington College Alumni Scholarship

Eligibility Incoming or currently enrolled student.

Criteria GPA of 3.5 or higher, with aminimum course load of 12 credit hours.
