2007 Alumni Award winners

Wanted: Outstanding Cameron Alumni
The Cameron School of Business is accepting nominations for the 2007 Outstanding Business Alumni Awards which will be presented during Business Week March 26-28. Alumni can be nominated for personal career achievement, service to the community and/or service to Cameron School of Business. The Cameron Alumni Chapter will select the honorees. Anyone who received a bachelor's or master's degree from the Cameron School of Business is eligible for consideration. Visit the Cameron School Web site for more information and a nomination form. The deadline is Friday, March 9.

Alumni Association 14th Annual Golf Tournament
The UNCW Alumni Association will host the 14th UNCW Alumni Association Golf Classic Thursday, April 26 at Magnolia Greens. You are invited to be a sponsor of this fun event. Proceeds will be used to support the Gerald Shinn Scholarship. Participants have a chance to win a 2007 Hummer from Rippy Autopark. Lunch will be provided by Chick-fil-A. Sign up to be a sponsor or to register your alumni team.

Alumni Association Scholarships
The UNCW Alumni Association scholarships, funded by alumni contributions, are awarded to deserving full-time UNCW undergraduate and graduate students. The scholarship application deadline for the 2007-08 school year is March 16, 2007.  You can help support student scholarships.

CHAPTER news
The Wilmington College Alumni Chapter meets every third Wednesday of each month at Jackson's Big Oak BBQ.

Triad area alumni will gather at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17 at UNC Greensboro for men’s basketball / ESPN BracketBusters. Tickets can be ordered at www.uncgspartans.com or by calling 336-334-3250.

There will be an Orlando, Fla., alumni networking social at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 15 at Season's 52 Fresh Grill. For more information or RSVP, contact North Florida Chapter leader, Kevin Snyder ’99, at snydee7c@erau.edu.

Raffle benefits scholarships
The UNCW Alumni Association will hold its second 50/50 raffle Saturday, Feb. 24 when the Seahawks take on the Blue Hens of Delaware. Proceeds benefit student athlete scholarships with your 50/50 ticket purchase.

Alumni Travel to CAA Tournament
Tickets are available for alumni and friends interested in watching the UNCW Seahawks compete in the Colonial Athletic Association tournament March 2-5 in Richmond, Va.

Grand Slam Jam
The ninth Annual Grand Slam Jam will be held Friday, May 4 at  Brooks Field when the Seahawks take on Northeastern University.  Pregame cookout begins at 5 p.m. and the baseball game starts at 7 p.m.  Please visit www.uncwalumnitickets.com to purchase your tickets today!

Volunteers Needed for Admission Visitation Day
Alumni are invited to meet and mingle with incoming students and their families during the annual Spring Visit Day Saturday, March 31. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. in Trask Coliseum. For more information contact the UNCW Office of Admissions at 910.962.3243.

Durham BullsDurham Bulls Baseball Game
The annual Durham Bulls Baseball Game will be hosted by the Triangle Alumni Chapter on Wednesday, June 6  at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.  Alumni and friends will gather at the PIC Party Deck for a cookout including beverages as they watch the Durham Bulls take on the Indianapolis Indians at 7 p.m. Tickets for “active” alumni association members are $19. Tickets for all others are $27.

Cultural Arts BuildingCultural arts building opens
The second of three historic cultural events highlighting UNCW's Year of the Arts took place Jan. 25-28, when the university celebrated the official inauguration of the Cultural Arts Building, the new academic, exhibit and performance venue for art, music and theatre. DELAWARE ROLLS PAST SEAHAWKS, 80-62
Senior guard Alena Koshansky poured in 22 points, including six-of-eight shooting from behind the arc, while senior guard Tyresa Smith added 22 to lead the Delaware women’s basketball team to a 80-62 win over visiting UNC Wilmington in Colonial Athletic Association action Thursday, Feb. 15. More

Men's 200 Medley Relay Captures CAA Title
UNCW’s men raced out to first place and the women hold down third after the opening day of the 2007 Colonial Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championships Wednesday, Feb. 14 at George Mason’s Jim McKay Natatorium. More
