Dominic Landucci
Habitat Technician

I was born in St. Paul, Minnesota and moved out west to Oregon at a young age. I grew up in the small town called Albany, where I went through school and graduated in 1986. I enlisted in the U.S. Army and went into the field of communications.

I completed my basic training at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina as one of the last groups to train on "Tank Hill". After basic I continued with my communications training at Ft. Gordon, Georgia until early 1997. I then went to Kitzengen, Germany to complete my enlistment for the 3rd Infantry Division in a Field Artillery Battalion.

After the Gulf War, I ended up in Savannah, Georgia where I found my love for the water by way of commercial fishing. I was first mate on a 72' trawler for four years on a commercial shrimp boat. We took four-day trips where we trawled the bottoms for the catch and spent the evenings on anchor offshore usually to an exciting evening of feeding the dolphins and shark fishing (for tagging purposes).

I later moved from Georgia to Winston-Salem, North Carolina to work for Time Warner Cable as a System Technician. Attending various computer courses, Microsoft MCSA, MCSE and A+ Certifications, I became very interested in the computer field.

Later to become a Broadband Tech for Charter Communications in Carolina Beach, North Carolina along with a small Networking/ Computer business. I gained valuable expertise in the computer field.

In 2003 the opportunity arose for a position at NOAA’s Undersea Research Center where I am now applying my skills in this unique opportunity with Aquarius. I reside in Key Largo, Florida with my wonderful Son who just turned 10. ("also called Dominic" as he would say) Next month will mark my 4th year with NURC. These last 4 years have been extremely rewarding and hope the program continues with great success. All of the various projects I’ve been lucky enough to be involved in during my NURC Diver employment has been very memorable. Dirka! Dirka!
