Don Thornton
Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit 2

I lived in northern New Jersey, until I enlisted in the Navy at 31. I worked as a route salesman for Coca-Cola throughout my 20's. While working for Coke, I took college classes at night and graduated from County College of Morris with an Associate of Science degree. Since enlisting in the Navy, I have worked as Hull Technician/diver aboard the submarine tender U.S.S. Frank Cable repairing 688 class submarines. At the completion of my tour on the Frank Cable I attended 1st class dive school. I am currently stationed at the Navy Experimental Dive Unit in Panama City, Fl. My work at the unit involves diving in various physiological studies as a test subject, testing new diving equipment, and working in the metal shop.
