Tim Gallagher is a Dive Specialist for the NOAA Undersea Research Center at UNCW. A native of Fort Collins, Colorado, Tim Received a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University, and holds several Technical Diving certifications, including Deep-Air, Trimix, Full Cave, Semi-Closed, and Fully-Closed Rebreather. Tim is also a Director and Dive Safety Officer for the Cambrian Foundation, an organization created for the purpose of conducting scientific research and exploration of the world’s aquatic environments. Tim has coordinated and supervised several private and federal projects around the world, including the USS Monitor Survey off the Outer Banks of North Carolina (240 fsw), Great Blue Hole of Belize for the United States Geological Survey (408 fsw), as well as recovery projects for the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), including Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler recovery projects in the Bay of Fundy off Eastport, Maine; and Multi-Beam Sonar head recovery projects off Cortez Banks, California. Current ongoing projects include exploratory dives in the Cenotes of Akumal and the caves and springs of Wekiva Springs State Park in Florida.
