Cassandra Roberts is a researcher at the Marine Pollution Studies Lab at Moss Landing Marine Laboratories. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Long Island University at Southampton and her Master’s Degree from San Jose State University at Moss Landing. Her research interests are in subtidal algal ecology as well as contamination in the marine environment. She has participated in many research/educational activities along the western coast of the US, Baja Peninsula, Aleutian Islands and Caribbean. Besides completing a state-wide study which identified the most contaminated areas in California's bays, estuaries and harbors, she has been sampling recently for the EPA in their efforts to monitor environmental conditions along the coastal Western United States. This is Cassandra’s third Aquarius saturation with Team Halimeda.
