Dr. Celia Smith, Principal Investigator for Team Halimeda, is a Professor of Botany at the University of Hawai’i Manoa. Her research works to integrate algal physiological ecology with life history strategies and plant-animal interactions for reef algae. At home, several projects have been enhanced by the chance to develop comparative work in the Keys. For this NURC-based “Team Halimeda” project, we are in our fourth season.
