| Bill Todd Bill is employed as a Simulation Supervisor and Project Lead at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. He is responsible for developing and executing multi-national simulations for training of the Astronauts and Flight Control Teams for the missions to build the International Space Station and he is also responsible for developing and managing the NASA Undersea Research Team " NEEMO" - NASA Extreme Environment Mission Operations. As a kid, Bill grew up watching the Apollo launches from his beachfront hometown of Cocoa Beach, Florida, where his father was also employed in the Space program. It was there at a young age that Bill was immersed in and captivated by both sea and space environments. Bill graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Geosciences in 1982. He has visited numerous underwater habitats and submersibles, and was an aquanaut on last years " NASA SEATEST "mission. He is currently working as the project lead and aquanaut on this NASA mission to develop a program for NASA, which utilizes the "Aquarius" as a research facility for space missions such as long-term space habitation. He is a PADI Divemaster and instrument rated pilot. His hobbies are boating,
diving and skiing with his family, and playing guitar in his rock band,
" The Rockit Scientists". Bill and his wife Karen have two daughters,
Kristen and Kari. They reside in Seabrook Texas. |
