Thursday evening we found ourselves sitting in the dark for a few hours.
The generator on our support buoy (LSB) shut down due to a fuel problem.
No warning, just a switch to emergency lights. When something like this
happens the topside support team responds immediately. At 2000 hours last
night, just before the shift change our mid-shift team came out, re-started
the generator, and restored power. This might not seem like a big deal,
but when you rely on electrical power from a source that you don't have
access to (50 feet above us on the surface), it's a real big deal. So
I want to say, THANK YOU, to the topside guys who make it possible for
us to work underwater. |
