Robert J. Nordness, MD
LCDR, USN
Bob Nordness was born in International Falls, Minnesota and attended high
school in Superior, Wisconsin. He graduated with distinction from the
University of Minnesota with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering.
After working as an engineer in the medical industry, he returned to medical
school at the University of Minnesota, graduating in 1990.
Dr Nordness completed residency in Emergency Medicine in Minneapolis
MN in 1993, and proceeded to work as an emergency physician in the Denver
area.
He was commissioned into the US Navy in 1995, where he underwent training
in Undersea Medicine, and qualification as a Navy diver. Following training,
he completed two tours with the fast attack submarine force prior to his
current position as Head of Undersea Medicine at the Naval Undersea Medical
Institute in Groton, CT.
LCDR Nordness is board certified in Emergency Medicine and in Undersea
and Hyperbaric Medicine. He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in
Environmental Engineering.
