Another productive morning. 3.5 hours of work checking, cleaning, and repositioning larval traps. The surge has increased over the course of the day and now we have near-whiteout conditions. From in the habitat, we can't even see the gazebo camera (around 15 ft away) from the galley view port. Sarah and I were collecting topographic data when the visibility rapidly decreased. We stayed in close contact with the excursion line to ensure that we'd easily find our way back to the habitat. Diving has been called off for the rest of the day. We'll all be spending some time together in the habitat until the weather improves. Today was a sad day for the fish. I saw a snapper, a permit, and a nurse
shark with fish hooks and lines Freeze-dried cooking tip o' the day: Today we had fun experimenting with some freeze-dried space food. The verdict: cream of mushroom soup translates VERY poorly to the freeze-dried world!
