Journal 7- Joshua Idjadi: Day 3: Wednesday, June 12, 2002
Shark day! Sarah and I saw two large nurse sharks near the habitat today. One of them slowly wriggled
its way to a nice sand patch and sat down for a while.

In the habitat it constantly sounds like raindrops are falling on our "roof." I was interested to find out that it's just the sound of snapping shrimp that have made their homes on the outside of the habitat. We've been having a good time reading through Cousteau's "Silent World." It seems appropriate considering where we are. It's fun to think about how our undersea technology has come a long way since then.

I gave a quick call to my family today and it was strange and wonderful to talk to them from down here. Freeze-Dry Cooking Tip o' the Day: Freeze-dried scrambled eggs are delicious when mixed with salsa and cheese on a tortilla. Nothing, however, compares to the delectability of my friend Nick's amazing Southwest Omelet. I could use some of that right now!
