Here's Jo's take on what she and Janet did today…'We were using a hand-held instrument which measures dissolved oxygen, pH and temperature to look at the effects of reef metabolism on water chemistry at different heights above the reef. To measure the heights we use a dodgy PVC construction (I can say that because I made it) which looks a bit like a Christmas tree. It's quite tricky - we were grading each other's technique!'
