Journal 1- Carla Zilberberg: Day 1: Monday, August 11, 2003
My first day at the habitat has been fabulous. We went down straight to a 110 foot dive and then after 2 hours we didn't come up. Instead, we came to our new home at 50 feet underwater! The most amazing thing is looking outside through the viewports and seeing fish. We are the ones in a huge aquarium!

Our second dive was over 2:30 hours , but the feeling after spending four and a half hours underwater is to stay even more! So, just to tell you a bit of what we did down there today: Jim has this BOA (big old array - the temperature devices we put out on the reef), but for me it looks more like lots of boa constrictors laying on the reef. This array of temperature sensors goes from120 feet up to 50 feet. There are a total of 100 temperature sensors all connected to one big brain. Today we started mapping the nodes for precise depth and distance and also labeling each one of them!
