Mark Hulsbeck
Habitat Technician
NOAA’s Undersea Research Center

Mark Hulsbeck is an Oceanographic Field Operations Manager for the Aquarius Underwater Habitat. His love of the ocean was developed while growing up in Florida and further nourished by extensive travel through the world’s oceans while serving in the U.S. Navy and NOAA’s Commissioned Corps. Mark is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, IANTD Nitrox Instructor , Divers Alert Network (DAN) Oxygen Instructor and Dive Medical Technician. He holds a 100 ton USCG Captain’s License.

Mark is an avid reader and enjoys maritime and diving history. Time permitting, he would like to get some sailing in this summer to add a sailing endorsement on to his captain’s license.

Working and living underwater as an Aquarius staff member is the thrill of his life. This is Mark’s seventh Aquarius mission.
