I grew up in Reading, PA, I attended Wilson High School, and earned my B.S. in Business Administration from Kutztown State College. After 24 years residing in PA, I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in September, 1983, and entered the Navy at Great Lakes, IL. I completed BEE school in Orlando, FL, and completed mineman A school in Charleston, S.C. While in Great Lakes, I qualified for the Navy Dive program. I entered 2nd Class dive school at Panama City, FL in September, 1984. After completion of dive school I checked aboard the USS Canopus, AS–34 in Kings Bay, GA from 1985–1987. After my first tour, I went to First Class dive school in Panama City, FL. When I finished with school, I reported to MDSU TWO in Little Greek, VA from 1987–1989. After reporting to Saturation dive school in Panama City, I was stationed at SDG–1 in California from 1990–1996. When this tour was completed, I was assigned as an Instructor at the Dive School at Panama City from 1996–1999. While at the dive school, I completed Master Diver evaluation and my first tour as a Master Diver was MDSU TWO in Little Greek, VA. While at MDSU TWO I spend two summers on the USS Monitor raising the turret from 220 fsw. I am now station at NEDU in Panama City as the Engineering Master Diver responsible for Ocean Simulation Facility, the world’s largest hyperbaric system.
