Kristen Painting
NASA Co-op
Johnson Space Center

Kristen Painting is a co-op in the Mission Operations Directorate at NASA Johnson Space Center. She calls Grafton, Ohio home, but spends her time back and forth working in Houston and going to school in Valparaiso, Indiana. She graduated from Elyria Catholic High School in Elyria, Ohio in 2002. She is now in her senior year at Valparaiso University, completing her undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering. She will graduate in May 2007.

Kristen was hired on as a NASA co-op in the fall of 2004, and is currently in her third work tour. She is now working in training for both International Space Station systems and the NEEMO mission. She has previously worked in flight controlling and thermal systems engineering.

Outside of work and school she works on the student activities planning committee and enjoys playing the clairnet, downhill skiing, hiking, running, SCUBA diving, and travelling anywhere she is able.
