Trevor Chapman is Lead Information Technology Analyst for the Centre for Minimal Access Surgery (CMAS). He was born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and still resides there today with his wife Kim and 10 year old son Dayle. Trevor has been working for St. Joseph’s Healthcare, Hamilton for more than 19 years. He enjoys music, reading, golfing, SCUBA diving and renovating his home.
After completing studies in Computer Science, Trevor began working at CMAS where he assisted in deploying an enterprise class video network. This network enabled CMAS to branch into tele-mentoring in three provinces. In 2003, when CMAS ventured into tele-robotics, Trevor was instrumental in developing Canada’s first surgical grade network and was the on-site liaison at the remote site to oversee all tele-robotic procedures.
In addition to his CMAS portfolio, Trevor is the Information Technology Lead for the Peri-Operative team at St. Josephs Healthcare where he is currently the project lead in the deployment of an information system for a Peri-operative EHR (Electronic Health Record) and RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) patient tracking system.
Trevor was the Technology Lead for CMAS during the NEEMO 7 mission in Oct 2004 and is currently CMAS’ Science and Technology Lead for the NEEMO 9 mission. He is thrilled to work with such a dynamic team dedicated to the furthering of medicine, space technologies and returning man back to the moon.
