- Larry Ward
- Habitat Technician
I was born in Ft Lauderdale, Florida in 1971 and my family moved to Boynton Beach, Florida when I was 11. Most of my time in middle and high school was spent on cars, boats, electronics, scuba diving and computers. During this time my dad and I restored a '65 Corvette convertible for my dad and a '66 Mustang for me. I graduated Atlantic Community High School in 1990.
In 1990 I was hired as a computer technician for a dealer of medical practice management software. In 1993 I started work as a CNC machinist, programming and running the mill. After a few years of this I decided to return to field computer tech work. In 2000 I started Freedom Information Systems, Inc. I sold, installed and configured hardware, operating systems and software. In 2005 I worked at East West Technologies as an aerospace test technician.
This year I moved to the keys and had the opportunity to join the team at NOAA’s Undersea Research Center. I am responsible for the electrical and electronics in the habitat and life support buoy. It’s an exciting job and I am looking forward to NEEMO 11.
