Friend of Aquarius and well-known underwater photographer Stephen Frink recently dove on the site and provided us with some incredible photos of the fish life around the undersea habitat. The Aquarius sits in a research only site within the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, with prohibited fishing strictly enforced. This is critical to our research and has contributed to the growth of a diverse and beautiful fish population around the undersea lab. While this helps our scientific research, we also hope that increased populations at the site will spill over into the adjacent Sanctuary waters. Stephen Frink is one of the world's most respected and widely published underwater photographers having produced stunning imagery for worldwide audiences for nearly three decades.
