News Media

News media may use NOAA/UNCW images in news reporting or documentaries on NOAA/UNCW projects and programs. The following credit line is requested: “ Photo courtesy NOAA and UNC Wilmington.”

We also request that you include the following acknowledgment in your story: “ Aquarius is owned by NOAA and is operated by the University of North Carolina Wilmington.”

Education

NOAA/UNCW images may be used in the preparation of course or instructional materials by teachers or students that are clearly not for profit. Express permission for such use is not required.

For images of Aquarius, the following attribution is required: “Aquarius images are copyright © , University of North Carolina at Wilmington. All rights reserved. Further reproduction prohibited.”

Personal Web Uses

Commercial

Permission to reproduce NOAA/UNCW materials for commercial purposes other than news reporting as described above must be requested in writing. In some cases a royalty will apply. When submitting requests, please indicate the specific images you want to use and describe the proposed use in detail.
