Andi Steele is a site-specific installation artist. Her work is designed to
interfere with space, shifting movement through and perception of a
particular area. She attaches multiple lines across existing spaces to alter
function and appearance. In her most recent works, she has been constructing
volumetric forms that guide the viewer through the spaces and, in some
instances, create new areas to enter.

Steele has exhibited these installations nationally, most notably at the
Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia in Atlanta. Recent exhibitions
include: Canted, Burroughs Wellcome Gallery, East Carolina University,
Greenville, NC, 2011 (solo); Place, Cultural Arts Building Art Gallery,
University of North Carolina Wilmington, Wilmington, NC, 2011 (solo); Focus,
ArtPrize, Grand Rapids, Michigan (2011). In 2012, she will be installing
solo exhibitions at the City Gallery at Chastain in Atlanta, GA and at the
Cameron Museum of Art in Wilmington, NC.
