Lecture to Focus on the Cowboy Way of Life

WILMINGTON, NC -- Dr. Richard W. Slatta, professor of history at NC State University, will lecture on "Comparative Frontier History in the Saddle" at 8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 19, in Cameron Hall Auditorium. This slide presentation, which is free and open to the public, will center on cowboys and frontier life in North and Latin America.

Slatta is an award-winning author of four books on comparative history including Comparing Cowboys and Frontiers and Bandidos: The Varieties of Latin American Banditry.

Following the lecture, there will be a reception with refreshments served. Dr. Slatta's presentation is sponsored by the UNCW Department of History.
