WILMINGTON, N.C. - Dr. Jo Ann Seiple, dean of the College of Arts & Sciences, announces the appointment of Dr. Sue Richardson as academic program coordinator of film studies.

As the new contact person for film students and faculty at UNCW, Richardson will coordinate admissions, curriculum development, student recruitment and advising. She will assist in the creation, development and establishment of a bachelor of arts degree in film studies, which is expected to be in place by the fall of 2001.

Richardson has written about and done research in the study of film for more than 10 years and has served on the editorial team for Bernard F. Dick's Anatomy of Film. She has also taught film-related courses in UNCW's English Department. Dr. Richardson joins film studies program director, Ellen Walters in this popular course of study.
