Fourth Annual Business Etiquette Dinner Offers "Menu for Success"

Tuesday, February 01, 2000

WILMINGTON- "Don't slurp your soup and make sure you use the correct fork," are just two rules that UNCW students will learn at the fourth annual UNCW Business Etiquette Dinner at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8, in Wagoner Hall, Madeline Suites.

In addition to table manners, the Business Etiquette Dinner will offer tips on business correspondence, telephone etiquette, making conversation, and the art of listening.

Participants will enjoy a delicious six course meal while practicing etiquette skills and learning the art of mixing and mingling. After the initial shrimp cocktail, they will learn what to do with a finger bowl of warm water with lemon, served with a clean napkin of course. This is followed by a creamy garlic soup with arugula pesto to cure all the slurpers out there. To cleanse the palette before the main entree, cranberry sorbet will be served. The main entree will consist of cornish game hen with wild rice and julienne of zucchini and carrots. The lavish meal will close with raspberry and white chocolate cream tartlette.

The event is sponsored by UNCW Career Services and the $18 tickets are nearly sold out. Deadline for ticket purchase is Tuesday February 1.
