UNCW ANNOUNCES SCIENCE FAIR WINNERS

Monday, March 20, 2000

WILMINGTON -- The Southeast Regional Science Fair was sponsored by the UNCW Science and Mathematics Education Center and held Saturday, March 18, in Trask Coliseum on the UNCW campus. There were 176 projects representing 13 school districts entered in 3 divisions (elementary, junior, and senior). Several professional and civic groups donated and presented special awards to exemplary projects related to their fields of interest.

The 13 school districts represented were Brunswick County, Camp Lejeune, Clinton City, Duplin County, Greene County, Jones County, Lenoir County, New Hanover County, Onslow County, Pamlico County, Pender County, Sampson County, Wayne County.

The Southeast Regional Fair will enter a total or 19 participants to compete at the State Science Fair, April 28, 2000 at NC A&T University in Greensboro.
