UNCW STUDENTS CELEBRATING HUMAN RIGHTS

WILMINGTON, NC -- UNCW students in the seminar "International
Human Rights Movement" will provide information on the achievements
and the challenges of human rights from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.,
Wednesday, April 26, at the Warwick Center.
From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., students will distribute information about
the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other
documents and organizations which provide leadership promoting
greater human dignity. Student presentations and a panel discussion
on topics such as recognizing the rights of children, eliminating
violence against women and racial discrimination, preventing
wrongful executions and confronting religious persecution will be
held from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Warwick Center, Center Stage
Cafe.
The seminar is taught by Dr. James Megivern, professor of
philosophy and religion at UNCW.
