AREA GRAD IS INTERN AT UNC WILMINGTON

WILMINGTON--William (Will) Blount, a 1996 graduate of Western Guilford High School and a senior communication studies major, is interning with the office of University Relations at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. His internship responsibilities include writing news releases, preparing web pages about upcoming university events, as well as assisting with news conferences and UNCW's education efforts concerning the Higher Education Bond Issue on the ballot Nov. 7.Blount is the son of Julia and Clyde Blount of Greensboro, N.C. At Western Guilford, he was recognized by Who's Who Among American High School Students, and he also wrote for the school newspaper. During his time at UNCW, Will has maintained better than a 3.0 grade-point average while also making the Dean's List. In addition, he was a member of UNCW's 1999 Championship Colonial Athletic Association Track and Field team.
Following graduation in December, Will plans to travel, write, and pursue a career in advertising and public relations.
