UNCW HOSTS PRESENTATION OF 2000 STUDENT ACADEMY AWARD WINNING FILMS

WILMINGTON, NC -- The fourth annual presentation of the 2000 Student Academy Awards, selected by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 26, in UNCW's Kenan Hall, Room 121.

Hosted by the UNC Wilmington Department of Art and Theatre, the presentation includes the screening of the five award-winning student films and Geri's Game, an animated film by Pixar which won an Oscar in 1998. Dr. Terry Theodore, professor in the university's Department of Art and Theatre, will introduce each film.

A second opportunity to view the presentation will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 27, at the EUE Screen Gems Studios Screening Room. Both presentations and free and open to the public.
