WILMINGTON, NC – Philip Gerard, professor of creative writing at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, is one of 25 North Carolina authors featured in "This Is Where We Live," a collection edited by Michael McFee and published by UNC Press. “Death by Reputation” was the Gerard work selected for the anthology.

“I feel privileged to be included among the company in this work,” said Gerard. “There are a lot of great writers represented in this collection.”

McFee, who teaches creative writing and North Carolina literature at UNC Chapel Hill, showcases a rising generation of North Carolina authors through the 25 short stories collected in the anthology. All the works were written within the past 15 years. Other works include “Shell Island” by local writer Ellyn Bache and “Last Rite” by Ron Rash, a prize-winning author who was born in Chester, S.C., but who grew up in Boiling Springs. Rash lives in Clemson, S.C.
