Pianist Barry David Salwen to Perform on UNCW Artist Recital Series.

Dr. Barry David Salwen of the UNCW Department of Music will perform a solo piano recital on Thursday, March 1, at 8 p.m. at Kenan Auditorium, on the UNCW campus. His program will be an imaginative mix of works by classical and living composers. The evening will include music by Beethoven and Schubert, along with pieces by Pamela St. John, John Hilliard, and Meira Warshauer.

Barry David Salwen is an international concert pianist who has given recitals and master classes in the U.S., Central America, Europe, Asia, and Israel. He appears on eight compact disk recordings and was the first artist to record the complete piano works of the American composer Roger Sessions. His performances have become a regular and well-attended feature on the UNCW concert calendar.

St. John, Hilliard, and Warshauer are all composers of distinction with ties to the North Carolina region. Warshauer‚s music has been performed in Wilmington a number of times, most recently last season by the Wilmington Symphony.

Admission to the performance is $10. Admission for children, senior citizens, and UNCW faculty and staff is $5.
