WILMINGTON, NC -- UNCW Theatre opens its final play of the 2000-2001 season at 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, in the Kenan Hall SRO Theatre. Moon Over Buffalo, under the direction of Communication Studies Department Chair Frank Trimble, tells the story of two almost has-been thespians, husband and wife George and Charlotte, who find themselves doing reperatory theatre in Buffalo, N.Y. Suddenly they’re faced with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to revive their film careers, courtesy of Frank Capra, no less, and … well, buy your ticket and find out!
Featuring not one but two plays-within-the-play (we see snippets of both Private Lives and Cyrano de Bergerac!) Moon Over Buffalo takes us backstage, onstage, and even off the edge of the stage as the troupe fights its way back to the brink of greatness.
Fast, loud, and outrageous, Moon Over Buffalo closes out the UNCW Theatre season with a bang.
