UNCW CONCERT BAND TO PERFORM FALL CONCERT

Wilmington - The University of North Carolina at Wilmington’s Concert Band, under the direction of Harry McLamb, will give its fall concert at 8 p.m., Monday, November 19 in Kenan Auditorium. The concert will include works by Alfred Reed, Percy Grainger, John Barnes Chance, John Philip Sousa, and Anton Bruckner. Trumpeter Jackson Norvell (UNCW graduate of ’98) will perform the Prayer of Saint Gregory by Alan Hovhaness for solo trumpet and band. Other featured compositions on the program are Scherzo from Paul Dukas’ The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, and George Gershwin’s Cuban Overture.

General admission is $5; $2.50 for UNCW faculty/staff, senior citizens, and children under 12; and UNCW students free with current ID.
