WILMINGTON, NC -“Mad for Stars - Cinema Icons” is now on display in Randall Library at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. This exhibit is featured on the library’s first-floor art wall through Feb. 28.

Seventy-five classic Hollywood stars, such as Elizabeth Taylor and Marylyn Monroe, are featured in 8 by 10 glossy, black-and-white photographs. The Minot West Godwin Photograph/Memorabilia Collection, which is housed in Special Collections at Randall Library, provided some of these photographs. The display also features current Hollywood stars, such as Tom Cruise and Julia Roberts, and movie posters.

According to Beth Roberts, administrative secretary in Randall Library, the exhibit will test students’ and the community’s ability to recognize Hollywood legends. “We wanted to show some of the collection and see if students knew any of the classic stars,” says Roberts. “This exhibit challenges viewers to discover their image recognition score.”
