Wilmington - The UNCW chapter of the NAACP will sponsor its 2002 annual Heritage Ball at 7 p.m., Feb. 22, in the University Union Hawk’s Nest. The theme of the night will be “Stairway to Heaven: Taking it Step by Step.” The event will include a dinner, dance and talk, Dr. Benjamin S. Ruffin.

Ruffin, who is the chair of the UNC Board of Governors, is a lifetime and Golden Heritage member of the NAACP. His speech will explain how small organizations and groups can make a difference in the community.

Tickets are $10 per person for UNCW students, faculty and staff, $15 for all others and are available at the University Union Information Desk or from any NAACP member. Tickets for couples are $25. Suggested dress is semiformal/formal.
