ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS, FAMILIES COMPLETING FINANCIAL AID FORMS

WILMINGTON, N.C. – On Saturday, Feb. 9, students planning to enroll in college next year and their families can get professional assistance completing federal financial aid applications.Financial aid professionals will be on hand at UNCW to assist students and parents in completing the electronic version of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Anyone planning to enroll in any college, nationwide, during 2002-2003, is invited to attend.
UNCW’s Financial Aid and Veterans Services team, along with local school professionals, will participate in the North Carolina FAFSA Day, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 9, in Bear Hall. Signs will be posted on campus to direct visitors to the event.
Families should obtain a paper FAFSA application and complete as much of the form as possible before coming to the university. If possible, families are also asked to bring parents’ and student’s completed 2001 tax forms, parents’ and student’s 2001 W-2 forms, the student’s Social Security card and driver’s license. Other financial information may also be required such as investment assets, child support payment information, etc.
