GREAT DECISIONS SPEAKER TO DISCUSS MIDDLE EAST PEACE PROCESS AT UNCW

Wilmington, NC – Dr. Sarah Shields is the next speaker in the UNCW Great Decisions lecture series on foreign policy. She will discuss the “Middle East Peace Process.”Dr. Shields is an associate professor of history at UNC Chapel Hill, specializing in the history of the Middle East between the two world wars. Shields teaches various courses on the history of the Islamic world and the Middle East. She has written Mosul Before Iraq, a book that analyzes the economy and society of nineteenth-century Mosul (currently in northern Iraq) and the region surrounding it.
Dr. Shields will begin her lecture at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, in Morton Hall, room
100. She will field questions from the audience at the end of the lecture. Great Decisions is open to the public and there is no charge for admission.
