Wilmington- The UNCW Percussion Ensemble will perform at 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 23, in the university’s Kenan Auditorium.

The concert will feature works by American composers who were influenced by musical styles from around the world. Among the songs selected for the performance are “Cancun,” “Ole South” and “Japanese Impressions.” Ensemble musicians will use various instruments including marimbas, steel pipes, gongs, bamboo sticks and even automobile brake drums.

There is no charge for admission.
