UNCW CELEBRATES BLACK HISTORY MONTH IN FEBRUARY

WILMINGTON, NC – The University of North Carolina at Wilmington will celebrate Black History Month throughout February. Events will range from a conference at East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C., to a musical revue by the NAACP. Some of the events take place during UNCW’s Intercultural Week, Feb. 11-16.

The UNCW chapter of the NAACP will also sponsor its 2002 annual Heritage Ball at 7 p.m. Feb. 22 in the University Union Hawk’s Nest. The theme of the night will be “Stairway to Heaven: Taking it Step by Step.” The event will include a dinner, dance, and talk by Dr. Benjamin S. Ruffin. Suggested dress is semi-formal.
