WILMINGTON, NC – Frances Morgan of Lake Waccamaw, a senior communication studies major at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and 2nd Lt. James W. Queen of Camp Lejeune will tie the knot on TV’s “Live with Regis and Kelly” at 9 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 12. The couple was chosen after Queen’s colonel wrote a letter to the program’s producers expressing the hardships the two faced during the past few years.

Three weddings will air on the syndicated talk show, seen locally on CBS affiliate WILM-TV (Time Warner Cable Channel 12). For the other couples, the Sept. 11 tragedies had an emotional impact. Although Morgan and Queen were not directly affected by the terrorist attacks, their heartfelt story stuck out in the producer’s mind. The program was originally going to feature wedding couples affected by the tragedies, but the producer decided that Morgan and Queen deserved selection.

The happy couple, along with five bridesmaids and five groomsmen, will spend a week in New York City. They will meet with the designer on Thursday, Feb. 7, to pick bridesmaids’ dresses, the wedding gown and rings. “Live with Regis and Kelly” is paying for all the expenses.

In addition to the wedding, the bride and her attendants will shop with Regis, go to yoga with Kelly and spend a day at the spa.

The first program airs Friday, Feb. 8, and will feature the couples being interviewed by Regis and Kelly. The other two weddings will air during the week of Valentine’s Day.
