WILMINGTON, NC – The University of North Carolina at Wilmington Police Department will sponsor a bike rodeo for Cub Scout Pack 213 at 5 p.m., Sunday, April 28, in the parking lot next to Trask Coliseum. Approximately 50 Cub Scouts are expected to attend where they will learn valuable information about bicycle safety.

“The Cub Scouts knew we had bike patrol and approached us to see if we would hold a bike safety seminar,” says Capt. David Donaldson, UNCW police.

As part of the rodeo, scouts will learn about North Carolina’s rules of the road and bike helmet laws, as well as, proper hand signals, road hazards, sign recognition and safe biking practices. Rodeo participants will demonstrate lessons they learned by navigating an obstacle course.
