UNCW School of Nursing to Hold Annual Research Day

WILMINGTON, NC – The UNC Wilmington School of Nursing Nu Omega chapter of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society will host its annual Research Day from 8 a.m. to noon, Friday, April 5, in the Warwick Center.

This forum is an opportunity for researchers to disseminate their findings as well as an opportunity for UNCW nursing school faculty and students and area health care professionals to learn about techniques and procedures that might improve patient care.

Dr. Cecile Lengacher, professor and director of evaluation at the School of Nursing, University of South Florida, will deliver the keynote address at 8:45 a.m. Lengacher, who is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Research Committee, will talk on psychoneuroimmunology.

There will be poster presentations on research projects by UNCW nursing students as well as health care professionals from New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Coastal Rehabilitation Hospital and Cape Fear Hospital as well as researchers at Ivy Technical State College in South Bend, Ind., and Virginia Commonwealth University.
