In response to the shortage of information technology (IT) professionals, UNC Wilmington, in partnership with CES Premier E-Learning Solutions, will hold a free seminar on information technology and e-learning from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 9, at UNCW’s Executive Development Center, 1241 Military Cutoff Road, adjacent to the Northeast New Hanover Public Library. The session will introduce IT professionals to new training options offered through WebU@UNCW, an online learning portal housed in the university’s Division for Public Service and Continuing Studies.

UNCW and CES representatives will explain the benefits and conveniences of learning online. Topics include training for network administration, database design and management, Netware, and a full line of IT certifications including Microsoft, Novell, Oracle and others. The programs are flexible and financial assistance is available for those who qualify.

“Our partner in this program, CES, has been at the forefront of online technical education,” said Woody Sutton, director of WebU@UNCW, about the new, strategic partnership between UNCW and CES. “The company’s record of achievement is impressive.”
